Itinerary: 4 Days from Marakech to Merzouga Desert

Day 1Marrakech-TiziN-Tichka-Ait Ben Haddou-Ouarzazate-Skoura-Dades Valley

4 Days from Marakech to Merzouga Desert starts from Marrakech, the route heads into the High Atlas Mountains along winding, steep roads, arriving at the 2260-meter-high Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Stunning views of the alpine landscape may be seen from the high mountain pass. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kasbah Ait ben Haddou is one of the tour’s highlights, and it awaits you once you cross the mountains. This walled village is situated along the ancient caravan route that connects Marrakech with the Sahara. Ait Ben Haddou has used as a backdrop for several internationally acclaimed Moroccan motion pictures due to its ancient, medieval aspect. You will go on to Ouarzazate, where you will stop at the Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Studios. The Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs is reached farther down the trail. We’ll spend the first night at Dades Valley.

Day 2Dades Valley-Toudra Gorges-Erfoud-Rissani-Erg Chebbi

Your expedition’s second day begins with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, followed by a four-hour drive to Merzouga. Before viewing two additional cities, Erfoud and Rissani, there will be chances to explore the little village of Tinghir, walk through the Toudra oasis, and then enter the canyons. When you get in Merzouga, a caravan of camels will be in sight. The journey will now take an hour to pass the Erg Chebbi Dunes, ending at the same time as the Saharan sun sets. After taking in the sunset from the top of the sand dunes, you will continue on to the desert camp for a fantastic evening. Together with the locals, you will enjoy a delectable supper and berber music.

Day 3Discover Merzouga

 You will go to Merzouga’s location on the third day of your thrilling ride over the Moroccan desert. Breakfast will be served at the camp. After dropping by a nomadic family for a cup of tea, you will begin your 4×4 journey of the desert region and gain insight into their way of life and history. You will go to the village of Khamlia, where you will get the chance to participate in and experience local culture. You will eat a berber pizza for lunch in the same village after learning about the nomadic way of life and taking in some Gnaoua music. You will have free time in the afternoon to enjoy the desert region’s activities. We’ll spend the night at the hotel and end the day with a delicious meal.

Day 4Merzouga - Ziz Valley - Midelt - Azrou - Ifrane - Fes

On the last day of your tour, you will be transferred from Merzouga Desert to Fes, passing by various fabulous cities and Berber villages along the way. Your driver will drive you to the Ziz Valley, which has such a nice panoramic view to enjoy some stunning pictures, and head to Midel, which is famous for the annual apple festival. Moreover, you will be taken to the cedar forest in Azrou for a short stop so as to meet the barbary macaques. Before you arrive in Fes, you will have another stop in Ifran, the Switzerland of Morocco. Finally, you will be dropped off at your accommodation in Fes,where the tour ends.
