ITINERARY: 2 DAYS DESERT TOUR FROM FES TO MARRAKECH

FES TO MARRAKECH VIA MERZOUGA DESERT 2 DAYS

DAY 1:FES - IFRANE - MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS - CEDAR FOREST - ZIZ VALLEY - ERG CHEBBI DUNES - DESERT CAMP

The first leg of our 2 days Morocco desert adventure from Fes to Marrakech begins at your lodging in Fes. We meet you and travel to Ifrane. It is also known as Morocco’s Little Switzerland because of its beauty and the large amount of snow that falls there each year. Later, we take a picturesque drive across the Middle Atlas Mountains, admiring the breathtaking scenery along the way. In addition, the path brings us to Azrou’s Cedar Forest, where we will have the opportunity to see Barbary macaques. Furthermore, we visit Midelt, Morocco’s apple capital. Free time for lunch. When we reach in Ziz Valley, we halt at a breathtaking panoramic viewpoint.

In the afternoon, we journey via many Berber communities, admiring the fascinating Berber architecture all the route to the picturesque Sahara Desert. We arrive at Erfoud; the city is famed for its annual dates festival, which takes place in October due to the vast amount of dates that the region’s palm palms produce each year.

Before the sun sets, we will ride camels around the Erg Chebbi and watch the sunset. Finally, we proceed to our desert glamping, where you will spend the night, have a fantastic meal, and join the locals in drumming and singing beautiful Berber music.

DAY 2:DESERT CAMP - ERFOUD - OUARZAZATE - AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH - HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS - MARRAKECH

On the second day of our Fes Desert Tour, an early wake-up is recommended to catch a lovely sunrise from your desert camp. After breakfast we move forward to Erfoud, where we visit a big shop to see how fossils are done. Next, we travel to Ouarzazate via a huge number of Berber villages and enjoy the views along the road trip. We arrive in Ouarzazate, which is also famous as an African Hollywood due to its biggest film studios… We stop by the lovely Taourirt Kasbah to see the fascinating Berber architecture. Furthermore, our Morocco trip continues to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well-preserved kasbah in Morocco. Around the Kasbah were filmed a huge number of movies and TV series. For example, there are the famous Game of Thrones, Gladiator, The Mummy, Viking, and more.

After walking and seeing the gorgeous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, we travel to Marrakech by crossing the High Atlas Mountains and enjoying the picturesque views along the Tizi N Tichka Pass.

In the evening, we end our 2-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech after dropping you off at your riad or the airport.
